Ingo and Espie Jeve
In 1972 Ingo Jeve invited his father to meet him in La Paz, Baja California Sur. His father, an avid fisherman, was eager to make the trip from Berlin. So Ingo and his father travelled to the remote fishing community of Rancho Buena Vista, about 70 miles south of La Paz, towards Cabo San Lucas. It was a $20 taxi ride, but well worth it. Getting Wendaway Ready
Wendaway is back in the water and looking forward to seeing all our cruising buddies. Here is a photo of the foot of the ladder while our boat was being prettified by the Precision Painting crew of Francisco Lopez.
We are currently at Marina Singlar Guaymas and hope to be setting out by Nov. 4, heading towards the Baja side and a rendezvous with SV AirOps.

Baja Bush Pilots at work
The Baja Bush Pilots group is now working closely with the Mexican Red Cross and should be in a position to start airlifting supplies in quantity.
The executive director, Jack McCormick reported today that Jimena relief activities are on hold while the enormous logistics are worked out.
“Our office has been totally overwhelmed with response from members and the general public.”
Other groups are also gaining speed.

Santa Rosalia - photo by SV Maitairoa
Santa Rosalia was one of the most interesting places we visited on SV SolMate. The town was punished by Jimena. Just a few weeks ago, a very inspired public project had created a lovely central zocalo (park) and it was clear that with the new mine in operation, things were looking up for this historic community.
